My laptop screen cracked!

Last week I spoke these words exactly... "I think I'm ready for a new laptop".  Yesterday I open my laptop and the dang screen is cracked... the irony!  I really didn't mean I wanted a new laptop right this moment as a result of my old one getting cracked LOL!  I was planning on giving the old one to my son after getting the new one, so I called Sony to see how much it would cost to replace the screen.  Let me just tell you all that I bought this laptop in 2010 for $700 and the guy on the phone tells me that the screen replacement will cost $500!  WTF!  Luckily I found that if I plug my laptop into another monitor I can use it as a desk top, sorry son  that's as good as you're gonna get. So off to Best Buy I drove!  I debated between getting a MAC or another Vaio, in the end I chose the Vaio because I was really happy with my old one.  I haven't unwrapped it yet because it has the new Windows8, which I know nothing about. I'm planning on taking a crash course to get a little familiar with it first.

Do any of you use the Windows 8?  Is it as intimidating as it looks?

My Son is 9!

On June 14, 2004 I gave birth to my second son!  He was a mommy's boy from the start.  I was able to spend almost the first 2 years of his life as a stay at home mom taking care of him which I didn't get to do with my other 2. He has the most infectious smile and laugh and is so loving towards everyone.  There isn't a day that goes by that he doesn't say "I'm so happy your my mom" and not a day goes by where it doesn't melt my heart.  This year he said was his "Best Birthday Ever".  Last week him and daddy went to Vegas to spend time with my in-laws who have a son (his cousin) his age.  Everyday they swam in the pool, stayed up late and even got to go to Circus Circus Adventure Dome, the top of the Stratosphere and rode the New York New York roller coaster.  He arrived back home late Wednesday night and on Thursday we celebrated his birthday with an early start by going bowling and eating at Round-Table (his favorite).  Yesterday Dad and I took him to Toys R Us where he picked out some really cool gifts, then off to see Man of Steel, and ended the day with Crab Legs for dinner and a cookies and cream ice cream cake.  What an awesome day!

I crack up at the way he bowls.  He runs, throws the ball and then directs it while it rolls LOL
The perfect end to a perfect birthday!

Lady Million by Paco Rabanne

I just bought this fragrance. It is so different from any fragrance that I've bought, but I absolutely love it. Really love it! When I first smelled this perfume the first thing that came to mind was "VEGAS BABY"! It is so seductive just like Vegas. It makes me want to throw on some heels and some red lipstick.

The Purge

My Thoughts:

When I first saw the preview for this movie I was freaked out, it looked like it was going to be so exciting and I couldn't wait to see it. .This movie wasn't as good as I hoped it would be, but it wasn't terrible either. It was just a little too predictable to me. I like to be kept in suspense and love twists, this movie didn't really have any of that. I would recommend waiting until it comes out on rental to see it.

Storyline:

In an America wracked by crime and overcrowded prisons, the government has sanctioned an annual 12-hour period in which any and all criminal activity-including murder-becomes legal. The police can't be called. Hospitals suspend help. It's one night when the citizenry regulates itself without thought of punishment. On this night plagued by violence and an epidemic of crime, one family wrestles with the decision of who they will become when a stranger comes knocking. When an intruder breaks into James Sandin's (Ethan Hawke) gated community during the yearly lockdown, he begins a sequence of events that threatens to tear a family apart. Now, it is up to James, his wife, Mary (Lena Headey), and their kids to make it through the night without turning into the monsters from whom they hide. Written by Universal Pictures

Chile Relleno Casserole

Whenever I go to a Mexican restaurant I order Chile Relleno, it's my absolute favorite Mexican dish.  Last night I was in the mood for it but didn't want to eat out.  So after some research I decided to try making a casserole.  OMG  it was so much better then some of the restaurants that I've eaten at.  I'm not kidding I ate so much of it LOL.  The recipe is so simple and only requires a few ingredients.  I also made some Spanish rice to go with it.... it was from the box but still tasted great.  I used Zatarain's.  If you like Chile Relleno, I'm pretty sure you'll love this casserole as well :)

Chile Relleno Casserole:

3 7-oz. cans whole green chiles
1 pound cheddar cheese, grated
1 pound jack cheese, grated
4 eggs
1 13-oz. can evaporated milk
3 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon salt

Wash the chiles, removing the seeds, and dry on paper towels. Grate the cheeses. In a medium-sized casserole dish, approximately 8 x 11 (9 x 13 is too big), layer 1/2 of the chiles, all of the cheddar cheese, the remaining chiles, then all of the jack cheese. Separate the eggs. Beat the yolks and add the evaporated milk, flour and salt, beating until frothy. Beat the whites separately for about a minute. Combine the two egg mixtures and beat for a few seconds longer so that they are well-mixed. Pour the egg mixture over the chiles and cheese. Bake at 300 for 1 hour. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
